Veterans Memorial Drive
The San Angelo Metropolitan Planning Organization helped honor veterans on the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. River Drive will now be known as “Veterans Memorial Drive”. This dedicated street will serve as a reminder to all who travel through the area of the many patriotic and wonderful people who live in this community. More than 10,000 veterans live in San Angelo and the surrounding area. A proclamation was read at City Council by Mayor Alvin New. This was presented to VFW Post 1815 in San Angelo.
