San Angelo MPO Programs

TIP
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the MPO’s four-year planning document that consists of highway and transit projects proposed for funding by federal, state, and local resources within the San Angelo metropolitan area. The TIP is updated every two years, is financially constrained, and includes a financial plan that demonstrated which projects can be implemented using current revenue sources and which projects can be implemented using proposed revenue sources while at the same time maintaining and operating the existing transportation system.

UPWP
The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) identifies transportation plans and programs that will be conducted within the MPO boundaries. This document outlines planning activities that help provide a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process within the MPO boundary. The UPWP is normally a one-year document; however, MPO’s are allowed to choose either a one or two year planning budget. Essentially, the UPWP is the budget for the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
